Repurposed Brass Tip Airlock
A brass tipped airlock performs like a rotary valve. The rotary airlock is used when it does not see air pressure on the discharge side of the airlock. Airlocks are used under equipment such as cyclones or conveyors to control air and, occasionally, fire. Airlock valves are designed and sized to handle metered volumes of material. Proper determination of material volume will eliminate the possibility of plugging above the airlock. Brass tipped airlocks do not handle pressures above 30" WG.
